Words of a Saint – St. Benedict Joseph Labre

Benedict Joseph Labret

St. Benedict Joseph Labre – Patron Saint of of Unmarried men (bachelors), rejects, mental illness, mentally ill people, insanity, beggars, hobos, the homeless.

To love God, you need three hearts in one — a heart of fire for him, a heart of flesh for your neighbor, and a heart of bronze for yourself.

Everything may be done with the help of God, provided we have a sincere good will.

We offend God because we do not know his greatness.

God afflicts us because He loves us; and it is very pleasing to Him, when in our afflictions He sees us abandon ourselves to His paternal care.

However much we suffer for the love of Jesus Crucified, it is but little.

I was watch in souls going down into the abyss as thick and fast as snowflakes falling in the winter mist.

In this world we are all in a valley of tears. Our consolation is not here. We shall have it eternally in Paradise, if we suffer tribulations on Earth.
