Every Christian has been and continues to be a sinner. Saints are sinners. Have you stopped lying? Have you stopped judging? Have you stopped murdering, even with your tongue? Have you given everything to feed, clothe, comfort the poor? Do you deserve damnation? Do you wish and strive to grow in holiness despite what you are? Do you deserve to be cast out of your city, your family, your church because of the temptations to which you surrender time and time again, which you know, confess, fight against, and fall back into? Does Christ cover you, or expose you; does he condemn you, or give you grace? Does he hate your sinfulness, or does he love you?
This is what I ask myself every day.
